The Arkansas Academic Challenge was dominated by two teams from the same school, Episcopal Collegiate from Little Rock . The teams had met twice during preliminaries, handing one another their only losses in the tournament. Entering the final match, Episcopal A was 6-1 with 1655 points, and Episcopal B was 6-1 with 1635 points. B had won their first matchup 265-235, while A won their second matchup 205-170. The teams would meet for a third time in the Finals, during whichthe A team emerged victorious with a 200-160 victory.
